                  WHY DO I SAVE MY CHILD MILK TOOTH WHICH IS GOING TO FELL DOWN?

                                                           IS IT NECESSARY?


Yes ! obviously it is necessary to save your child deciduous teeth(milk teeth).Deciduous teeth will erupts in baby oral cavity by 6th month and it will be there up to 12 years of age.In sequence of series primary teeth will erupt.Totally there will be 20 primary(milk)teeth.

    

When decay affects your child primary teeth,you should treat it first.Some may think ,it is eventually going to fall,so why should we treat?.That is wrong.First think whatever you feed your child with healthy foods it will get chew under decayed teeth.Decayed teeth will contains bacteria and germs.So if there is a decay teeth ,even you feed your child with healthy foods,it is 50% useless.Sometimes prolonged decay in permanent teeth may affect the underlying permanent teeth.So,to overcome these problems we give you perfect solution.

TREATMENTS FOR PRIMARY TEETH

1.TOOTH COLORED FILLING/COLORED FILLING

        Teeth has three layers.Enamel,dentin and pulp.When decay is in enamel,dentin region your child may not feel the pain. If decay touches pulp part then pain will start.So it is the right time to treat your child primary teeth.In this condition filling is done,this will take 20-30 minutes.First we will remove the decay,clean the teeth and then filling material will set on teeth.We advice not not drink water for half an hour,so that filling gets set right.

2.PULPECTOMY WITH CROWN

               As said earlier when decay touches pulp region your child will have pain.They will find difficulty in eating.In this condition pulpectomy will be handled out.Pulpectomy is similar to root canal procedure done in adult.Here,we will remove the infected tissue and replace it with  a substitute.

Then we will place stainless steel crown over the treated teethThis crown will fall off along with the primary teeth.The whole procedure will be carried out in an attentive,joyful,caring manner by our pedodontist to make your child be in their utmost comfort zone.

          

3.ORAL PROPHYLAXIS/SCALING

  When more calculus(tartar)gets deposited in oral cavity scaling has to be done.This is mostly due to improper brushing.

4. TOPICAL FLUORIDE APPLICATION 

Fluoride application is done to prevent caries.It will also depress bacterial activity.Early dental caries can be prevent by fluoride application.We can not control decay by fluoride application but we can prevent it.As we say prevention is better than cure.In this procedure we will apply fluoride application in an impression tray,then we will ask your child to bite on it for 4 mins.After fluoride application child should not drink water or gargle their mouth for half an hour.

Fluoride application will come in different flavors.So it is easy for children to hold on for 4 mins.

5.STRIP CROWNS

           When decay affects front teeth we cannot place stainless steel crowns.Decay in front teeth usually occurs during bottle feeding,especially when child is sleeping.So in this condition we will advise strip crowns.Strip crowns is a transparent crown cemented with tooth colored material.So it will mimic your primary teeth.It will fall off along with your milk teeth.

6.TOOTH EXTRACTION

  

     We will try to save milk teeth to our most possible level.Only in very rare cases it will end up in extraction.Teeth which is infected ,grossly decayed will go for extraction mostly.
