Many will have a big question ,whether they can visit a dentist during pregnancy.Here is the answer for it.



You can visit dentist during pregnancy,but there are restrictions to some treatments to be done during pregnancy.

IN 1 ST TRIMESTER

During 1 st trimester(first three months),dental treatment should be done very carefully.You should first inform your dentist that you are pregnant.It is safe to clean your teeth during first trimester,it is good for both mother and baby.Other than cleaning tooth fillings can be done.x rays during pregnancy is strictly prohibitted.Those radiations may affect the baby.

IN 2ND TRIMESTER

In second trimester ( 4th to 6th month) .It is consider as best time for dental treatment during pregnancy.But x rays during this period is also restricted.

IN 3RD TRIMESTER

During third trimester(last 3 months),dental treatment is good to be avoided.


IN CASE OF DENTAL EMERGENCY

In case of any emergency,medications can be prescribed for the patient.The medications prescribed by dentist will be safe and relief pain.In very rare cases tooth removal will be done in a very careful manner with proper anesthetics ,in 1st and 2nd trimester only.


NORMAL TEETH PROBLEMS DURING PREGNANCY

There will normally some tooth problems occur during pregnancy.this is due to hormonal changes that happens during pregnancy.
