INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT

   

  •   PRECAUTION:      since the anaesthetic effect will last for 2 - 3 hrs, be cautious not to bite the lips,tongue,cheeks.
             
  • MEDICATIONS :   take the prescribed tablets and complete the entire course of medications inorder to prevent infection                                                                                                                           
  • PAIN AND SWELLING: It is normal to have some amount of pain and swelling after surgery which would subside within a couple of days . If it persists, call us for additional instructions.                                                                                                                                                                                  
  • ICE PACK: In order to reduce swelling, apply ice pack externally on the implant site intermiottently for 1st 24 hours.                                                                                                                                                                         
                                                 
  • DIET: Take soft diet and avoid hot liquids and spicy food for 3-4 days after surgery. Avoid bitinghard food items on the site of implant placement for about 7-10 days.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

  • ORAL CARE: Avoid spitting and overzelous cleaning on the day of surgery .From the next day gently rinse with warm salt water especially after eating.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
  • HYGIENE: After few days ,clean around implant using cotton buds.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
  • SMOKING AND ALCOHOL: Avoid smoking and alcohol for minimum two weeks .                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
                                                                                                                                      
  • EXERCISE:Avoid strenuous activity after implant surgery
