tooth colored filling

                                                      TOOTH COLORED FILLING

Do you want to fill your decayed tooth similar to your natural tooth? Here is a                               perfect way for it!

Our teeth has three layers outer enamel, middle dentin and inner pulp.Starting stage of decay is when it lays on enamel. When decay is in dentin layer you will feel severe sensitivity and mild pain. But when it touches pulp you will feel the real pain.

WHEN TOOTH COLORED FILLING CAN BE DONE?

When decay is in dentin layer we can go for tooth colored filling. We dentist call it as COMPOSITE FILLING. Composite filling used to recover the decayed teeth. It also  plays a major role  for cosmetic purpose and reshaping of tooth.Gap between two teeth can also be done corrected with composite filling. It is completely painless and long standing procedure.

WHAT IS TOOTH COLORED FILLING?

Tooth colored filling (COMPOSITE) is a combination  of  powdered glass and acrylic resin materials . completely safe and reliable. It is a simple procedure that takes less than 30 minutes.

composite can be done in 3 steps.

STEP 1- We will clean the decayed area well. Then ETCHING process is done.It is a step where a material called Etchant is placed in your teeth for 30 second and washed. The area is dried well now.

STEP 2- Next immediately BONDING is done. Here bonding agent material is applied and it is light cured with our light cure unit.

LIGHT CURE UNIT (LC unit)

Light cure unit is LIGHT EMITTING DIODE CURING UNIT.It produces a narrow spectrum of blue light in 400-500 nm range. It is highly safe.We in our MSR dentistry makes our patients to wear eye glass for all treatment. With light cure unit we cure the material for 20 seconds. It is far enough for tooth colored filling.

STEP 3-Then in last step composite material is added in increments and cured with light cured unit wherever necessary. As we are curing (emitting light form lc unit) the strength of material becomes twice.

STEP 4- Atlast we will polish the composite material so that it looks uniformed to your other natural teeth. Then we ask patient to bite and check whether they can restore their chewing property as they have before.

COMPOSITE FILLING ADVANTAGES

1.They resemble 100% same as your natural teeth
2.Only limited amount of tooth structure needs to be removed.
3.Less drilling procedure
4.Time consuming
5.Hardens in seconds
6.They give you strength equal to our natural teeth.
7. Repairable

OTHER MATERIALS USED FOR TEETH FILLING.

There are some materials available to fill decayed teeth.
1.Amalgam filling- This is a filling made of Mercury material. It is high in strength. But due to aesthetics problem and  some disadvantages, most dentist wont recommend it now a days.

2.GIC filling-This is also a white colored filling. But it is a powdered material. Its strength is comparatively less than composite material.
