Why filling is more important?

WHY FILLING IS MORE IMPORTANT ?

Our tooth has two parts.Upper  crown and lower part is  root.Crown is visible part and root is invisible part.

Decay usually starts in enamel layer. When it reaches dentin layer  ,you will feel the sensitivity during intake of cold/hot items. And finally, when it touches pulp you will feel the pain.
When decay is in dentin layer tooth colored filling can be done. But when it is in pulp region, there you have to proceed with Root canal  treatment.

WHEN FILLING CAN BE DONE?

Once the decay touches your dentin layer ,you will severe sensitivity ,when you drink hot coffee /tea  ,sometimes with food items like sweets & cold items like ice creams also.severe decay in dentin layer can be identified with sign of sensitivity even with normal water & air from ac rooms.
In some cases of hallow decay, food lodgement between teeth can be also an typical sign for filling.

If these are the signs you are identified ,then filling has to be done.

WHY FILLING IS IMPORTANT ?

If we identify decay in dentin stage we can done filling and save the tooth naturally. The next stage of decay is pulp.In this stage you will feel the pain and swelling (rarely). If pain has been identified ,then root canal treatment has to be done.To avoid root canal treatment and to save tooth with minimal treatment procedure, filling has to be done.

This is why,filling is important.
