WHAT IS CONSCIOUS SEDATION?

Conscious sedation is a type if anaesthesia ,where patient will remain active with verbal contact and also in a state of depression of CNS (central nervous system).

Conscious sedation ,patient will remain in sleep condition,but they will able to respond for all your questions.Here ,patient will not feel any pain or discomfort.They will remain free from their anxiety & fear.

IS CONSCIOUS SEDATION GOOD ?

Yes conscious sedation is absolutely great way to kick of patient’s  fear & keep them more comfortable and relaxed.

No interventions are required to maintain patient airway,normal ventilation is more enough.
Cardio functions will also be maintained on side

FOR WHAT DENTAL TREATMENT CONSCIOUS SEDATION PREFERRED?

It depends on the patients.Some person will fear even for scaling(cleaning).We dentist prefer conscious sedation for Root canal treatment,Impaction & Dental implants.


AFTER CONSCIOUS SEDATION

 Patient should not wake up immediately from dental chair
They should rest for next half an hour in a same place
They should be provided with some fresh juices first
Not solid foods should be given immediately(even tablets)
