will dental implants affects eyes?

WILL DENTAL IMPLANTS AFFECTS EYES  ?

Many people will have a doubt ,that dental implants will affects eyes.?

This is one of the major myth about dental implant. We will explain you clearly about it below.First,we have to know about types of dental implants & their connection with orbital floor(eyes)

- CONVENTIONAL DENTAL IMPLANTS

This is the major type of dental implants, that we commonly used for patients. These implants will fixed into jaw bone.(maxilla or mandible). It is about 6 mm - 16 mm in length maximum.

There is much space between implant and orbit bone.,which proves dental implants have nothing to do with oribital floor /eye.

- PTERYGOID IMPLANTS

This implant will be placed on maxillary bone ,in conditions where is limited bone for implant placement. It is placed in 45 degree angulation. The length of this implant varies from 15-26 mm in maximum.

Pterygoid implants completely stand ,behind the orbit.so pterygoid implants will not affects eyes

- BASAL  IMPLANTS

Basal implants will get engaged into basal bone (strongest part of bone). The length of implants is about 10-22mm in maximum. Also ,this implant is in great distance from orbital bone(eyes)

- ZYGOMA  IMPLANTS

This is the lengthier among the dental implants. And will be placed in zygoma bone(cheek bone). This bone, will not get resorbed easily,so even in cases where there is mimimal bone  in maxilla, dental implants can be done with zygoma bone.

The length of zugoma implants starts from 35 to 45mm  in maximum

This above picture clearly shows zygoma  implants also have a great distance from orbit.(eyes)

Here we confess that dental implants have no connection with our eyes (orbital bone). As the distance between eyes and maxillary bone is about  29 to 36 mm.
