1.DRY MOUTH: Uncontrolled diabetes decrease the salivary flow, resulting in dry mouth.Dry mouth can further lead to soreness, ulcers,infectiona and tooth decay.


2.DELAYED HEALING: Wounds with uncontrolled diabetes do not heal quickly after oral surgery or other dental procedures because blood flow to the treatment site being hampered.



3.GINGIVITIS AND PERIODONTITIS: Diabetes leads to thickening of the blood vessels , which may inturn leads to reduced flow of nutrients to and waste products from body tissues. With these combination of events, the body loses its ability to fight against bacteria. since periodontal disease is a bacterial infection, people with uncontrolled diabetes might experience more frequent and severe gum diseases.


4.THRUSH : People with uncontrolled diabetes are highly prone to fungal infections of the mouth and tongue leading to burning of mouth and tongue.
