AM I THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR IMPLANTS?
AM I THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR IMPLANTS?
Dental Implants are one of the best way to replace your missing tooth. Untreated loss of single or multiple teeth affects your ability to chew food, speech and bring about a change in your appearance .
Who makes a good candidate for dental implants?
1.Do you have a single or multiple missing teeth? you can always replace your teeth with the help of implants.
Well the answer is yes, with advancements in implant dentistry which includes zygomatic implants.
2.Is it safe for diabetics patients to get dental implants?
The answer is YES, but require proper pre and post implant care. The dental implants procedure are highly successful if you have controlled diabetics.
Dental implants are embedded into the jaw bone. They rely on the body's natural healing processes for the jaw to integrate with the implant(osseointegration). Then the gums must heal as well. This complete integration into the jaw and healing of the gums is what makes dental implants so much like real teeth and a much more permanent solution than conventional bridges or dentures.
Because the healing process can be slower for those with diabetics, patients with uncontrolled diabetes have a more difficult time healing. Thus, your dentist may need you to come for followup regularly.
3.Are dental implants contraindicated in patients with osteoporosis?
The answer is yes. Impaired bone metabolism in patients with osteoporosis may affect the
osseointegration of dental implants.
