IMPLANT VS FIXED PARTIAL DENTURE
IMPLANT VS FIXED PARTIAL DENTURE
Missing tooth can be replaced permanently either by Bridge or Implants. Each methods have their own advantages and disadvantages.
During the early days, a bridge was the only choice for teeth replacement. Inorder to make a bridge, the adjacent healthy teeth size, near the missing tooth is altered to retain the crowns.
Impression is made and the crowns are fixed with permanent cement.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Dental implants is an artificial root with crown, which helps to replaces missing teeth. Implants mimic 90% of our natural teeth. You can eat anything you want, once you replace your missing teeth with implants.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants will be encouraged in alveolar bone.Alveolar bone gives maximum support and strength for the implants, dental implants have three parts.
PARTS OF IMPLANT
1.IMPLANT 2 ABUTMENT 3 CROWN
Implant is the main part that holds the other things.Abutment is the next part that comes over implant.Abutment is the one that affix implant with crown.Crowns will be screwed to abutment.
Implant will get engaged to bone by osseointegration process.OSSEOINTEGRATION is a functional connection,it is an interlocking procedure between implant and alveolar bone.Once osseointegration is over , implant gets double strong into bone.
