Myth and truth in Dentistry

Due to lack or less awareness on dental health and education  among people, there are lot of myths are arising day by day. Here there are few myths are discussed with the real fact. MYTH : I don't have tooth ache, so i don't want to visit dentist TRUTH :  It is essential to have regular dental check up in order to prevent or diagnose early signs and symptoms of dental problem. It doesn't mean that your oral cavity is healthy , just because you have no tooth ache. When it pains, it indicate that you infection has reached up to the nerve level which is more serious than the normal. it is essential to visit your dentist at least once in 6 months. Apart from teeth, your dentist will also check your surrounding tissues of oral cavity. MYTH : Natural tooth paste is better than fluoride tooth paste, As fluoride tooth paste are harmful. DENTAL CARE FOR PREGNANT MOTHER

While you are pregnant, it is important to take care and maintain your oral hygiene. Many hormonal changed are caused due to pregnancy which can develop risk of gum disease, which can affect the health of your developing foetus.  Before you get pregnant, always have a prior dental check up. In that way, you can maintain your oral hygiene.  Important Points to remember: 1. If you are pregnant, tell your dentist that you are pregnant so that he can plan your treatment accordingly. 2.Any urgent dental treatment can be done at the pregnancy with proper care. 3. Other elective dental procedures can be postponed after your delivery. 4. If your are taking any medicine, tell your dentist the name of the drugs . Your dentist may alter your treatment plan . 5.
